Utena (Movie Duelist version)

Construction Highlights: I made the top by modifying/mutilating a military style coat pattern that fit me really well, and substituting the different colored panels in place of where the darts would have gone. The top is fully lined. I used this same method for the shorts, except I based it off a skinny jeans pattern.

I painted an old pair of plain white tennis shoes with fabric paint.

The epaulettes are christmas ornaments (cut in half) with model magic trim, and embroidery floss for the fringe.

I cast the gem brooch with clear polyester resin and blue resin dye.

I made the sword out of wood, with a lot of help and guidance from my husband. I used metallic spray paint for the silver blade, and metallic acrylic paints for the handle.
